Travel to the capital city of Beijing, the ancient capital of Xian, and to China’s modern city, Shanghai. Sail through China’s picturesque Three Gorges on board the deluxe Century Paragon. Visit four UNESCO world Heritage sites, including one of the grandest archeological excavations, the Terra Cotta Warriors museum and an opportunity to see the Forbidden City and climb the monumental Great Wall of China.

DAY 1 – ARR. BEIJING (-)

Arrive in Beijing, the capital of China. Meet your experienced local guide and transfer to the hotel. Check in at your hotel. Rest of the day free at leisure.

DAY 2 – BEIJING (B,L,D)

Full day visit the Temple of Heaven, an important site for the emperor worship, the largest square in the world – Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, where the last emperor resided. Enjoy a national dish, Peking Duck dinner as a welcome dinner.

DAY 3 – BEIJING (B)

Climb the Great Wall of China. The 4,000-mile long and 2,000 years old construction is said to be the only man-made structure visible from the moon. Pass by 2008 Olympic Sites.

Evening, enjoy dinner at your own leisure.

DAY 4 – BEIJING TO XIAN (B)

Morning, explore the Summer Palace, an ancient royal resort. Cruise on the Kunming Lake. Fly to Xian, an ancient capital of China.

DAY 5 – XIAN (B,L)

Enjoy a full day excursion to the Eighth Wonders of the World, Terra Cotta Warriors Museum and visit the City Wall, the best reserved ancient military system. You will have a special dumpling lunch today. Explore some unique snacks at the Muslim Quarter.

DAY 6 – XIAN TO CHONGQING (B)

Today, fly to Chongqing, where you will embark your boutique luxury river cruiser, Century Paragon for a three-night journey to Yichang. Settle into your cabin as the ship sails downstream to the stunning Three Gorges region. Enjoy dinner on board.

DAY 7 – YANGTZE CRUISE (B,L,D)

Start your morning with traditional Chinese exercise. Enjoy the natural scenery of China’s longest river, the Yangtze River. Afternoon, shore excursion to Shibao Pagoda, a 12 story pagoda built without nails rises stunningly against a rocky hill along the Yangtze River. Evening, enjoy a Captain Welcome dinner.

DAY 8 – YANGTZE CRUISE (B,L,D)

Cruise through the graceful and charming Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge. Shore excursion of Lesser Three Gorges or Shen-nong Stream, where you will see cascading waterfalls, steep cliffs, karst caves, three-colored springs, and an amazing array of fish, birds, and monkeys as they play near the water’s edge. Captain’s farewell dinner.

DAY 9 – YICHANG TO SHANGHAI (B)

Arrive at the Three Gorges Project Dam Site and Exhibition Center to learn the history and capacity of the world’s largest dam. Disembark in Yichang around midday, fly to Shanghai, known as “Paris of the East” .

DAY 10 – SHANGHAI (B,D)

Explore the past, present and future of Shanghai by walking along the Bund. Continue to Yu Garden with its largest outdoor bazaar . Learn about the silk weaving at the Silk weaving workshop. Chinese silk is one of the best souvenirs to bring home. Pass by the beautiful French concessions and the People square. Enjoy a farewell dinner.

DAY 11 – SHANGHAI (B)

Full day free at leisure or join an optional tour to Suzhou, “Venice of the East” and best known as the Garden City of China.

DAY 12 – SHANGHAI DEPT. (B)

Transfer to the airport for your flight to home.
